Carl Thompson is a legendary bass
luthier and jazz musician based in New York. He
is responsible for several innovations in bass guitar
design including the 6-string and Piccolo basses.
His work can be seen as played by legends such as
Stanley Clarke and Les Claypool of Primus. In addition
to designing the site, I also maintain it for Carl.
The site provides a vast amount of information and
images as well as sells T-shirts and instruments
from time to time.
The official Carl Thompson website currently
houses nearly 3,000 images of Carl's instruments. The average
price of one of his basses is nearly $5,000.
