Kids of Widney High
  The Kids of Widney High are a group of students from Widney High, a special education high school in Los Angeles. The students have been writing and performing original songs since the class was started in 1988. I have worked with them for a few years now, donating my time to develop a website. I was recently contacted to design a logo for use on their upcoming album and T-shirts. The idea came from the group's founder, Michael Monagan, who envisioned a handicap symbol that also formed the hint of a musical note.

We wanted the handicap symbol to be immediately recognizable, but also wanted people to see a musical note. The flags on the back of the chair continue down to the wheel, forming the outline of an eighth note. The speed lines also help to reinforce the lines on a sheet of music.
